What will be different about the eToken over the SecurID product?

There are three major differences:

  • the eToken will have more use cases. Departments can design services to make use of the eToken.
  • the eToken management (issuance for the first time, recovery due to loss/misplacement of eTokens, unassignment) can be delegated to departments. This is expected to speed up the process of getting access to staff.
  • the cost to the University for the service will be less than the current SecurID operations cost.
